SkinPen is the world's first FDA cleared microneedling device. It uses fourteen precisely engineered needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin — triggering the body's own wound-healing response and initiating new collagen and elastin production.
Unlike derma rollers or cheaper alternatives, SkinPen's patented safety mechanisms ensure consistent, precise needle depth on every pass — no tearing, no dragging, no uncontrolled injury. SkinPen's twelve needles create micro-channels at a precisely calibrated depth — between 0.5mm and 2.5mm depending on the area being treated. Each channel triggers a three-phase biological response: inflammation, proliferation, and remodelling.

SkinPen is the only microneedling device FDA cleared, CE marked and MHRA registered. Every other device on the market operates to a different standard. The regulatory difference is not a technicality — it's the difference between a clinical instrument and a cosmetic tool.
The derma roller and the clinical SkinPen are not the same treatment. The mechanism is superficially similar — needles, skin — but the precision, safety, and regulatory standing are in a different category entirely.

Because microneedling works by creating a controlled healing response in the skin, there are a few times when we'd plan around it. Please let me know before your appointment if any of these apply:
